Free Design for the Blackwork Mini Mystery Project

Welcome to the Blackwork Mini Mystery Project where the finished project a big surprise. Just a hint it is not a flap for a purse as it may appear!!!

The design does not have to be worked reversible as the back will not be visible. The stitching can be worked on 16 count or 32 count fabric so is suitable for all levels of stitchers.

Although the project is "mini" it will take some time to complete. I hope you will enjoy the process and the result.

The Mini Mystery Project is be posted in three stages, you can click on the links below to download the PDF file with the lesson. Some people have had difficulties downloading the PDF files, this is most likely due to the internet security settings on the computer. Additional Comments

Please read the instructions carefully, it is a little confusing where to begin as normally we would begin in the center of the fabric. Refer to the Border instructions on page 2 for where to begin. You will need to work the first floral motif No. 1 on the chart on page 9 at the bottom of the fabric, about 2 inches from the bottom edge of the fabric. There will be a large space of fabric left at the top of the design for stage 2 of the project.

The embroidery size will measure 7 ¼ inch (18 cm) wide by 4 ½ inch (11 ½ cm) high.
