APPLE BLOSSOMS: 2-SIDED, REVERSIBLE EMBROIDERY The apple blossoms are reversible embroidery worked on one piece of fabric. This unusual technique was traditionally used to adorn flags, so that the fabric was light enough to blow in the wind. The flowers are worked in a padded satin stitch, the smaller leaves are worked in a satin stitch or padded satin stitch an the larger leaves are worked in long and short stitch using two colours. The buds are worked in a padded satin stitch and stems worked in stem stitch.
