The
design is painted or tacked onto the velveteen ground fabric.

The
head of the feather is padded with a layer of yellow felt and then
Very Fine Rococco is couched over the top using Kreinik Metallic
threads and Au Ver a Soie silk thread.

The
ends of the Very Fine Rococco are taken to the back of the back of
the work.

The
feather barbules (side strands) are worked by couching down a single
strand of blue or green Passing Thread down the center and couching
down a single strand of Very Fine Rococco on each side of the Passing Thread.

The
feather shaft is worked by couching down two strands of red Passing
Thread down the center and couching down a single strand of Very Fine
Rococco on either side of the Passing Thread.

The
peacock feather eye is worked in blue passing thread over blue felt.
-
Around
the peacock feather eye chips (beads) of Turquoise Dull Check Purl
are couched down.
