GOLDWORK STILL LIFE

WORK IN PROGRESS

  1. The design is drawn onto the silk ground fabric.

  2. The design is padded with two layers of felt and crochet cotton.

  3. The diamond sections are outlined in pearl purl and then filled in with Japan thread.

3: Passing Thread

  1. The leaves are worked in purl threads, sewing down chips (beads) at a diagonal over the crochet cotton padding. The body of the pineapple is outlined with milliary wire.

  2. The grapes and cherries are worked in rhodes stitch.

  3. The leaves are worked in satin stitch.

  4. Green French knots and beads are added to the pineapple to add dimension.

PREPARATION TIME

Tracing the design, prick and pounce method of transfer, and placing the fabric into the stretcher bar frame: 1 hour

Gold No. 8 (K4) Japan Thread, Gold T70 Japan Thread, Super Pearl Purl, Milliary Wire, Gold No. 7 Smooth Purl, Gold No. 7 Bright Check Purl, Seed Beads, 14 Shades of Au Ver A Soie Silk Threads, Yellow Polyester Sewing Thread.
