Hi. My name is Janice Pardy, although I prefer Jan because I only get called Janice when I am in trouble. I retired a few years early due to my health. I live in Langwarrin, an outer suburb of Melbourne Australia. My home is close to the bay and is on the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula which is a lovely part of my state. I have been embroidering for 7 years and I was a quilter before embroidery became my passion. I love all types of embroidery, especially needle painting and goldwork. I also knit and crochet and wish that I could draw. My youngest daughter worked in Canada in Banff for 18 months and Canada is definitely a country I would love to visit. I am a dog lover, and can’t walk past a dog without giving it a pat. I have a long-haired Jack Russell Terrier crossed with a Border Collie. He has lots of energy and keeps me laughing with his antics. I belong to the Embroiderers Guild of Victoria Australia. We have a similar name to a Canadian Guild so I often see work from this Guild. I did an overseas tour of England with an Australian tour company that stays in stately homes and organises classes whilst on tour with RSN embroiderers. I saw the Martha Edlin casket at the V&A Museum and from that day on have been embroidery obsessed. I am really looking forward to this class.
