I have drawn onto your picture the angle of the stitches, you can stitch in some guide stitches across the section in the same color, work about 5 stitches in the position that I have drawn on your embroidery and then fill in the satin stitch in between the stitches, this will help you keep your stitches at the correct angle.
It doesn’t matter if the stitches are a slightly different angle from the original embroidery as you will not notice the angle of the stitches once the embroidery is complete.
Sorry to hear about the magnifier lamp, can you improvise and use a regular lamp as well as reading glasses ? I sometimes wear reading glasses over my regular glasses.
