Hi Tanja, There is sometimes a gap between the two satin stitches at the base of a crack where it meets the branch. I can use the French knots to push them closer together so am not concerned. I am laying the two satin stitches beside each other and not splitting the first when I do the second. Pulling them tighter seems to just make them thinner but maybe my tension is the problem. Just to the right of the right foot is an example. Some I have pushed together with my finger. Thank you, Jill
