The embroidery looks complete I do not see anything that you need to do, to add to it.
You have done an excellent job! it is surprising to hear that you have never done this technique before, you are a natural at surface embroidery.
I would encourage you to continue with this technique as there are not many people who stitch needle painting designs well and it would be good if you can pass on some needle painting embroideries that you have stitched to future generations for them to admire and to keep the technique alive.
