Benice Bain
My name is Bernice Bain. I live in the big city of Toronto, having grown up in North Bay, a small city in northern Ontario. I attended U of Toronto and graduated as a librarian. I met my husband when his job took him to North Bay but we did not start to go out together until he was transferred back to Toronto. We married and shortly after his job took us to Nova Scotia before moving back to Toronto seven years later with a son and daughter in tow. During this time I knit, crocheted, tatted, and did some cross stitch and surface embroidery. It was not until I retired in 2006 when, at the invitation of a friend, I joined the Scarborough Needlearts Guild and was introduced to so many wonderful types of needlework. I have learned to do several with some proficiency but was never really satisfied with the needle painting I attempted. I admire Tanja’s work so much that when I saw this course, I had to take it.
