Bargello Stitched by Beppy Berlin.

The straight stitches are worked on canvas using a variety of texture threads in yellows and purples and embellished with beads. Finished in a picture window mat.  Approximate time it took to make: 4 hours.

This beautiful bag is worked in Bargello embroidery on mono canvas using rayon threads, perle cotton and embroidery cotton in greens, blues, purples and yellows. In between the Brazilian stitches, the bag is decorated in French knots and beads which catch the light. The inside of the bag is lined with soft light purple felt.  Approximate time it took to make: 16 hours.

The blackwork dolphin sampler is worked with black DMC embroidery cotton on ivory 24 count even weave fabric. Unframed. Approximate time it took to make: 20 hours.

The blackwork embroidery of different stitches is worked with black DMC embroidery cotton on 22 count fabric. The embroidery is finished in a black plastic hoop frame. Approximate time it took to make: 6 hours.

The cushion is worked in canvas work stitches using different textures of cream embroidery threads such as perle cotton and soft wool.  The back of the cushion is a cream upholstery fabric.

Case hand made by Beppy Berlin.

The front of the case is worked in Hapsburg lace canvas work stitches using white perle cotton on brown 16 count mono canvas. In-between the bands of canvas work stitches is couched down blue ribbon and flowers worked in DMC embroidery cotton. The back of the case is covered in blue cotton fabric as is the inside, with a pocket to slide flat items into like photographs, or written keepsakes. The inside is also partially lined with fine yellow felt – the felt has deteriorated over time and needs to be replaced with a new piece of felt.  Approximate time it took to make: 18 hours.

Needle Case hand made by Beppy Berlin.

Each side of the needle case is worked in pulled work using white thread on white 20 count linen fabric – There is one faint brown spot on one of the outside pulled work panels.  The inside of the case is lined with white cotton satin fabric – that has some faint brown spots and there are six pages of white felt to hold needles or pins. There is a piece of white velcro to hold the case closed.  Approximate time it took to make: 8 hours.

The Hardanger Celtic knot emblem is worked with green and red/orange variegated perle cotton thread on 22 count Hardanger fabric.  Mounted on black card and finished in a off white picture window mat there is a small dent on the window mat.  Approximate time it took to make: 1 1/2 hours.

The hardanger sampler is worked with perle cotton thread on 22 count Hardanger fabric.  Mounted on a grey board to show up the beautiful stitching. Unframed.  Approximate time it took to make: 14 hours.

Three pulled work samples are worked on 28 count linen fabric. One pulled sample is worked in white threads, the middle sample is worked in blue threads of various thicknesses and the other sample is worked in blue, green, pink, turquoise, yellow and purple threads. Finished together in a brown picture window mat.  Approximate time it took to make: 9 hours.

The tulip photo frame is worked by sandwiching metallic fabrics under a piece of opaque organza fabric against a silk fabric and held in place with a back stitch. Approximate time it took to make: 4 hours.

Silk ribbon and long surface embroidery stitches were used to create this beautiful bouquet of flowers on a linen fabric. Has a loose picture window mat for finishing.  Approximate time it took to make: 4 hours.

This is a stumpwork embroidery that Beppy was working on with apple blossoms and leaves worked in needle lace, some with padding, in an outline of an apple.  The embroidery comes with the pink plastic hoop that she was working the embroidery in.  Approximate time it took to make: 6 hours.
