The straight stitches are worked on canvas using a variety of texture threads in yellows and purples and embellished with beads. Finished in a picture window mat.  Approximate time it took to make: 4 hours.

Finished in a picture window mat.  The mat has bends in it next to the third panel. Approximate time it took to make: 15 hours.

The hand made padded photo frame is worked in blackwork embroidery stiches using DMC embroidery cotton and metallic thread on 22 count grey even weave fabric. Approximate time it took to make: 5 hours.

This long narrow sampler has 26 blackwork patterns worked in dark brown DMC embroidery cotton and fine gold thread on light brown even weave fabric. Approximate time it took to make: 26 hours.

A firmly stuffed cushion is worked in variety of canvas work stitches in a range of blue, green and yellows in crewel wools on mono canvas. Back of the cushion is blue/green upholstery fabric.

The pulled work background is worked in cream coloured thread on cream linen fabric. Over the pulled work pattern a flower with leaves is worked in raised embroidery stitches using variegated embroidery threads. Finished as a blank greeting card and can be displayed as a picture.  Approximate time it took to make: 2 hours.

The Casalguidi glasses case has a pulled work background on brown linen fabric. Behind the pulled work fabric is red felt fabric which shows through the holes created by the pulled work design. On the front of the scissors case are raised embroidery stitches, creating pink, blue and purple flowers with green leaves using variegated threads.  The case is firm with a red felt fabric lining.  Approximate time it took to make: 12 hours.

The outside of the case on both sides is worked in a counted thread flower pattern in pinks and purple perle cotton on green 16 count aida. The inside of the case has a large piece of pink felt that folds into the case. When the case is open the felt can be used to hold beads or spangles so they do not move around when stitching.  A hand made pink and purple cord ties the case closed. Approximate time it took to make: 5 hours.

The front of the case has a heart worked in Hapsburg lace using perle cotton on white 16 count mono canvas and a needle point rose in the center worked in DMC embroidery cotton. The Hapsburg lace heart is applied onto a dark pink cotton fabric, which also covers the back of the case. The inside of the case is lined with light pink cotton fabric and has a dark pink cotton fabric pocket to slide flat items into like photographs, or written keepsakes.  Approximate time it took to make: 10 hours.

The English quilted bag has a heart motif and shell motif worked in running stitch on cream satin fabric backed with batting to create a puffy effect. On the inside of the bag a diamond grid pattern is worked in running stitch on cream satin fabric backed with batting to create a puffy effect.

The bag is finished using a sewing machine and has a blue satin lining, cream satin binding and a cream ribbon closure.  Approximate time it took to make: 7 hours.

The Hapsburg lace embroidery is worked with white perle cotton on 16 count brown mono canvas with ribbon stitched between the bands of canvas work stitches. The blue and green forget-me-not’s flowers are worked cross-stitch using DMC embroidery cotton.  Finished in a off white picture window mat.  Approximate time it took to make: 25 hours.

The hardanger sampler is worked with perle cotton thread on 22 count Hardanger fabric.  Mounted on a grey board to show up the beautiful stitching. Unframed.  Approximate time it took to make: 14 hours.

The needle lace sample stitches are worked on a hand painted copper stiff supporting fabric. The sections are cut out and filled in with needle lace stitches using brown, gold and copper metallic threads and light brown perle cotton.  Finished in picture window mat – window mat has one faint water mark.  Approximate time it took to make: 10 hours.

Three pulled work samples are worked on 28 count linen fabric. One pulled sample is worked in white threads, the middle sample is worked in blue threads of various thicknesses and the other sample is worked in blue, green, pink, turquoise, yellow and purple threads. Finished together in a brown picture window mat.  Approximate time it took to make: 9 hours.

The sampler is worked in pulled work stitches and Hardanger stitches using white thread on 32 count linen fabric. The alphabet is worked in cross-stich, flower leaves and stems and the hearts are worked in red thread. The sampler is also embellished with white beads.  Mounted on a brown board so that the pulled work stitches stand out.  Unframed.  Approximate time it took to make: 20 hours.
