Berlin Embroidery Designs – Tanja Berlin
Hi Val
In some places you are not keeping the stitches close enough together, for instance on the 1st row on the of satin stitch on the 1st toe you could have had your stitches closer together, as the toe look a little uneven. The second toe looks good the stitches are closer together so that satin stitch looks smoother.
I see that you still need to work your 4th toe you should do this before you continue with the long and short stitch on the body.
You are not quite in control of the angle of your stitches on the body yet, this will come with experience and the more practice you have the better you will get at keeping the stitches or at the same angle, yours waver a little bit. I don’t think this will notice when the rest of the stitching is in.
There are a few locations on the body where you can add a stitch where the stitches were not quite close enough together which I have drawn on your picture in pink.
The long stitches should all go halfway into the 2nd row whereas you got shorter with the long stitches towards the top of the row. This is a very common thing to do as people want to keep the stitches to the same position in a straight line instead of following the curve of the row. I have drawn onto your picture a blue line for where the long stitches should have gone to. You do not have to take the stitches out but from now on please take your long stitch halfway into the next row, following the curve of the row.
Please email me a picture when you done more the first row before continuing on with the 2nd row in case there are places where you need to add a stitch.
Thanks,
Tanja
