The Introductory to Blackwork – Small Blackwork Butterfly embroidery is a Level 1: Beginners of my Further Education designs. The blackwork butterfly is a counted form of hand embroidery in which interesting blackwork patterns are worked on the wings, body and flowers and then areas outlined with pearl purl and stem stitch.
There are 21 pages of detailed instructions with step-by-step numbered patterns and diagrams to guide you through the embroidery and you have the option of purchasing the 3 PDF files with colour work-in-progress pictures of the entire stitching process on my butterfly that I provide when I run my on-line classes. The embroidery is worked in the tissue paper transfer method. There is not a full chart of the embroidery in the instructions.

There are 21 pages of detailed instructions with step-by-step numbered patterns and diagrams to guide you through the embroidery and the option of getting the three PDF files with work-in-progress photos of the butterfly. Each PDF file is at least 29 pages long with over 50 pictures and instructions in each PDF file. There is not a full chart of the embroidery in the instructions.
The embroidery is worked in the tissue paper transfer method. This is an easier method than working the pattern directly from a set chart as there is more versatility where each pattern can be worked so is less complicated to work. Each blackwork butterfly will come out slightly different making the butterfly unique to you and you will have a piece of stitched art that you you will be proud of.
