The Hapsburg Lace Scissors Case is a beginners canvas work design.

Needles – Tapestry Size 24
Tapestry needles have a blunt end to the point of the needle so that the needle does not catch or pierce the threads of the counted fabric when working from one hole to the next. The tapestry needle has a long eye for easier threading.

The Hapsburg Lace Scissors Case is a beginners canvas work design. This is a design by my very talented mother – Beppy Berlin.
The lacy stitches are worked in Perle cotton on 18 count mono canvas. It is an easy technique, great for all level of stitches and can be worked in the hand in your most comfy chair (no frame necessary). It is also a good project to take with you when you are traveling as it is easy to pick up and put down without losing your place and without having to deal with lots of different threads.
The Hapsburg lace technique gets is name from a Lady from the Hapsburg Dynasty who developed the style, selecting the most lacy canvas stitches to mimic real lace in the form of needlework.
The Hapsburg lace patterns are worked from a chart and the instruction booklet in the kit has lots of step-by-step diagrams and instructions on how to work each pattern and how to construct the scissors case.
Ribbon is sewn down between some of the patterns and beads embellish some of the patterns for a touch of colour.
The small blue or pink or purple hand embroidery scissors fits nicely in the scissors case.
