Hapsburg Lace Sampler Runner

Hapsburg Lace Sampler Runner

$16.43$32.86 USD

The Hapsburg Lace Sampler Runner is an intermediate canvas work design and is the design that got me started in Hapsburg Lace. The sampler runner was designed by my mother – Beppy Berlin a very accomplished and much loved designer and tutor of needlework in the UK.

The lacy stitches are worked in Perle cotton on 18 count mono canvas. It is an easy technique, great for all level of stitches and can be worked in the hand in your most comfy chair (no embroidery frame needed). It is also a good project to take with you when you are traveling as it is easy to pick up and put down without loosing your place and without having to deal with lots of different threads.

I offer this design at a lower cost for groups.

The Hapsburg lace technique gets is name from a Lady from the Hapsburg dynasty who developed the style, selecting the most lacy canvas stitches to mimic real lace in the form of needlework.

The Hapsburg lace patterns are worked from a chart and the instruction booklet in the kit has lots of step-by-step diagrams and instructions on how to work each pattern.

Ribbon is sewn down between some of the patterns for a touch of colour.

To get nice holes at the center of the eyelets without having to pull hard on the stitches (which can distort the canvas) I suggest using a brass stiletto…..enlarge the hole in the canvas prior to stitching the eyelet.

I am offering free on-going critique with this kit…..you can email me at any time if you have questions or would like me to critique your embroidery.

Purchase pieces of 18 count mono canvas for your own designs.
