Blackwork Etui Box

Blackwork Etui Box

$16.34$65.35 USD

The Blackwork Etui Box can be worked by any level of stitcher. For beginners I suggest working the patterns on 16 count Aida fabric and experienced stitchers can work the patterns on 32 count Belfast linen fabric. There are set blackwork patterns for certain panels of the boxes, and the instruction booklet has step-by-step numbered diagrams and instructions to guide you through the blackwork patterns. Other panels of the box are covered with cotton fabric of your own choice (the cotton fabric is not supplied in the kit), There are instructions on how to construct the box once the stitching is complete.

The kit includes four colours to stitch box: dull green for the cross-stitch border hedges and brown, blue and leaf green to stitch the knot gardens/blackwork patterns.

The patterns looks great in worked in other colours and variegated embroidery thread if you are not partial to the colours that I have chosen.

The last two pictures in the image gallery shows how one customer worked the blackwork patterns in variegated silk thread and used a complimentary cotton fabric.

A stitching light and magnification are an asset to work the embroidery.

I am offering free on-going critique with this kit…..you can email me at any time if you have questions or would like me to critique your embroidery.

Description of Fabric Types:

The count of a fabric is the amount of threads there are per inch of the fabric. The more threads there are per inch the harder it will be to see the holes in the fabric. The 28 and 32 count fabrics have a softer feel and look compared to the 14 and 16 count Aida fabric

  • 16 Count Aida Fabric: 100% Cotton. The fabric has even weave threads (all threads are the same thickness). 14 count is the easiest fabric to count for absolute beginners in counted embroidery or for those who have difficulties seeing 28 or 32 count fabric.
  • 32 Count Belfast Linen: 100% Linen. The fabric has uneven weave threads (threads are different thicknesses) giving a natural look.
